The workbooks present brief, concise instruction with illustrations, followed by varied practice exercises. The set includes Applied English Essentials, Fifth Edition, Applied Punctuation, Sixth Edition, and Correct Spelling, Third Edition.

The instruction in each text is organized into these elements:

INFORMATION. An Information section begins each unit with guidelines and examples.

PRACTICE. Each Information section is followed by exercises that give students practice with the rules and guidelines presented. Answers to these exercises are in the back of the book.

APPLICATION. At the end of each unit is a two-page review exercise that gives students the opportunity to apply the concepts presented in the unit.

RECAP. At regular intervals, there are summaries of the guidelines presented in the preceeding units followed by additional exercises for review and reinforcement.

OVERVIEW. The final unit in the text is a comprehensive review exercise covering all material presented in the text.
